Staying Grounded

All around us there are the sights, sounds, smells, feelings of change as Summer transforms into Autumn. While change is the one constant, can you stay grounded amidst it all?

Some changes are subtle and others are loud. It's during the big changes that our grounding habits become a wonderful ally. We can practice staying grounded all year, of course, so that when the turmoil of obvious change happens upon us we are ready. We have been practicing.

The easiest practice to access at any moment is your breath. As soon as you observe your breath, something happens.

Go ahead, try it now.


Focus on your inhale for 5 breaths. And focus on the exhale for 5 breaths.


What do you notice? Calmer thoughts? No thoughts? Feeling of being present in your space? The present moment? Pretty amazing because it's so simple.

Take an intentional breath often. Be grounded amidst all the change!
